Dry eye

Dry Eye Syndrome (DES) is a multifactorial disease that disrupts the tear film and affects the ocular surface, causing symptoms such as dryness, irritation, and blurred vision. It is one of the most prevalent conditions in ophthalmology and can significantly impact quality of life, limiting daily activities like reading and prolonged screen use. Its prevalence is rising due to an aging population and increased reliance on digital devices.

At CORNEA_project, we are revolutionizing the diagnosis and treatment of DES through the identification of molecular biomarkers. This innovative approach allows for more precise and personalized care for each patient. Our work enables ophthalmologists to better classify the disease and implement targeted, effective treatments, improving eye health outcomes while reducing costs associated with misdiagnosis and ineffective treatments.
